Money Saving Ideas

Even if you're not on a budget, it's always wise to keep an eye on your spending. You'd be surprised at how all the little things can add up. The following are a few suggestions on how to cut back on spending without feeling like you are.

#1 Skip picking up Starbucks every morning. If you just can't go without it, pick up a package and make some at home yourself. You'll get more for your buck in the long run.

#2 Take a look at your cable package. Does everyone really watch all of those channels? Try downsizing. Same goes with the cell phone features, get rid of what you don't use.

#3 Next time you do your grocery shopping, consider generic brands instead of name brands. Some items do the same job for half the price.

#4 Do some comparitive shopping on providers. You could be paying a lot less for long distance calls, home or car insurance and mortgage rates. If you've had the same company for years, call them and explain that their competitor is offering the same service for less. Many times, they'll match their competitor's price. They've worked too hard to keep you, they don't want to lose you.

#5 Go easy on the restaurants and movies. It's nice to treat yourself but ordering out too often can really add up. Watch a movie, make a quick and easy meal and grab some wine and candles. Enjoy a relaxing evening at home.

Doesn't Sound Like Much? A few dollars here and there might not seem like it would make a big difference but if you take the money you would have normally spent on these items or services and place it aside, you'll have enough saved for something special for you or your family.
