Everyone has something they can offer. It can be an item they no longer use, a skill or a service. A skill can be helping someone's child learn how to throw that curveball or teaching the neighbour down the street how to use her new digital camera.
It can also be offering a talent you have such as providing music or art lessons. A service could be anything from marketing to plumbing.

My neighbour and I exchange baby sitting. We don't worry about who owes who hours. We figure it'll all pan out.
me and my friend swap clothes for our kids. they grow to fast and kids clothes are expensive.
